PLEASE NOTE : Due to continuing concerns and uncertainties associated with the spread of COVID-19, the show has been rescheduled from spring to November 2021, at the Moncton Coliseum Complex, Moncton, New Brunswick.
Bringing over 160 exhibitors under one roof, the 2021 Atlantic Farm Mechanization show will focus on helping the agriculture industry transform challenges into exciting opportunities. Our exhibitors will showcase the latest in machinery and technological advancements, launch new products, demonstrate finance, crop planning and precision agriculture apps and software tools, and provide new techniques, research and knowledge resources for every kind of grower.
Whether you represent a multi-national operation, manage a large tract farm, run the family farm, operate an organic, CSA or hobby farm, or organize a small urban plot or community garden, the Atlantic Farm Mechanization show can help you reach your goals.
The COVID-19 pandemic impacted every part of our lives and livelihoods as the country went into lockdown last spring, with farmers among the hardest hit. As manufacturers, processors, hospitality and food service sectors virtually shut down, commercial agriculture operations were left holding perishable inventory they could not move. As the spring planting season approached, growers dealt with labour shortages, quarantines and social distancing guidelines.
It was a staggering lesson on how fragile our food security system really is, and the importance of diversifying products, markets and methods.
Growers continue to navigate weather extremes and shifts brought about by climate change, as well as upsurges in different pests and diseases. As areas of the south become inhospitable to growing and people emigrate northward, we’ll also face significant demographic challenges.
Over the coming years, as Canada plays an increasingly important role in feeding the world’s growing population, we’ll need to pay careful attention to labour and shifting product demands, while mitigating agriculture’s huge environmental footprint, in particular water consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Despite these difficulties, we’re living through exciting and transformative times. By taking a long view—with greater emphasis on technological innovation and regenerative agriculture practices that protect and restore soil, groundwater and biodiversity—farms can become more resilient. As we rise to the challenges of safeguarding our national and local food supplies, we can participate in restoring health to both planet and people, building stronger economies, and securing a viable future for the generations to come.
The biannual Atlantic Agricultural Mechanization Show, which has been loyally supported by the agricultural community since 1975, welcomes exhibitors directly related to the agriculture sector. Directors closely follow a few basic principles in the operation and management of this event and welcome exhibitors to check our Exhibitor Info page for costs, schedules, terms & conditions, application forms and contracts.
